TechnicalCollectible prompt
Receipt, reset and welcome emails for every inbox
Act as a senior email developer. Build three transactional email templates for {{business_name}}: a receipt, a password reset and a welcome email. Brand colors: {{brand_colors}}. Voice: {{brand_voice}}. Stack: {{tech_stack}}. Read how emails are sent today, and keep the provider already in place.
Build:
- With MJML or React Email, compiled to table-based HTML with inline styles, 600px max width, one column on phones
- A system font stack, or one web font with a safe fallback
- Body text 16px with 1.5 line height, buttons at least 44px tall that work in Outlook for Windows, contrast at least 4.5:1
- Preheader text, a lang attribute, role presentation on layout tables, and a plain-text version of each
- Dark mode: color-scheme meta tags, a logo that works on dark and light, and no text baked into images
- Images off: every key fact is live text, and every image has alt text
Content:
- Receipt: order number, date, items, tax, total, payment method showing only the last 4 digits, billing details, and how to get help or a refund
- Password reset: when it was requested, a single-use link that expires in 30 minutes, a plain note to ignore it if it wasn't them, no tracking pixel, and never a password
- Welcome: one sentence on what they can do now and one clear next step, not a feature tour
Shared: our from name, a monitored reply-to, the business address in the footer, and no marketing in the reset email.
Test in Gmail on web, iOS and Android, Apple Mail, and Outlook on Windows, Mac and web, in light and dark, with images on and off.
Avoid: an email that's one big image, tiny gray text, and "Unlock the power of" copy.
Finish with the templates, sample data for previews, and the sending code changes.
