Onboarding checklist that gets new users to first value

Act as a product designer focused on activation. Build an onboarding checklist for {{business_name}}'s app in my {{tech_stack}} project. The first result a new user should reach: {{goal}}. Roles: {{user_roles}}. First, propose the activation moment (the one action that best predicts someone sticks around) and 3 to 5 tasks that lead to it. Show me the list before building. Each task: a verb-first title, one line on why it matters, a time estimate ("2 minutes"), and a button that does the task inline or deep-links to exactly the right screen, already scrolled and focused. Rules: - tasks complete from real events recorded on the server, never from ticking a box - progress text "2 of 4 done" with a thin bar; completed tasks show a check and stay visible, without strikethrough - invited members of an existing workspace don't see owner-only tasks - the checklist can be hidden ("Hide for now") and restored from the help menu - when everything is done, show one quiet success line with the next useful thing, then remove the checklist next visit - record an analytics event for each step to see where people stall Placement: a card at the top of the home screen: 8 columns at 1280, the full content width at 768 and 360. Rows 56px, title 15 to 16px weight 600, description 14px at 4.5:1. Order shows the recommended path, but any task can be done first. States: loading skeleton; task in progress (for things that take time, like importing); failed task with a retry; all done; a user who arrives with everything already done never sees it. Accessibility: a list with each task's status in text ("Done", "Not started"); progress announced politely when it changes. Motion: a check draws in 200ms when a task completes; none under prefers-reduced-motion. Avoid: 10-step tooltip tours, modals that block the app on first login, points and badges, confetti.
